Iran, US Achieve Better Understanding in Rome Nuclear Talks, Technical Negotiations to Continue in Oman

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi commented on the recent round of indirect talks between Tehran and Washington held in Rome, stating, “We managed to reach a better understanding regarding a number of principles and goals,” shortly after the conclusion of the negotiations.

Iran (IMNA) - He announced that technical and expert-level negotiations are scheduled to begin in Oman starting Wednesday.

Araghchi emphasized the routine nature of these discussions, saying, “(Holding) negotiations are one of the tasks of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. There is no need for excitement, and we are carrying them out carefully and calmly.” He added, “There is no reason for much optimism, and there is no reason for much pessimism either,” underlining a balanced outlook on the process.

In a separate interview, Araghchi clarified that the United States has not brought up any issues unrelated to the nuclear file so far, reiterating that Iran will not accept discussions on any matter other than the nuclear issue.
