Iran (IMNA) - The relief items of the Turkish Red Crescent Society included tents, foodstuff baskets, sheets, blankets and moquettes; the humanitarian aid packing essentials were distributed among the flood-hit people under the supervision of the Golestan Red Crescent Society and based on detailed need assessment.
The Golestan floods which was caused by heavy rains starting on 19 March, destroyed infrastructure, buildings, livestock and agricultural lands and affected 10 cities in northeast Iran in negative manner.
As the new round of flooding is expected, officials ordered to evacuate the flood-stricken cities in southern and western part of Iran as the river waters continuing to rise upstream and dams are in danger of overflowing.
