Iran (IMNA) - Condemning recent actions by the United States, Baghaei characterized the attack on Venezuela as a dangerous violation of national sovereignty that lacks justification.
He emphasized that the persistent breaches of international laws should alert the global community to the risk of chaos in the international system if these principles are not upheld. Baghaei pointed out that the use of brute force in international relations is fundamentally contrary to established norms, and he strongly condemned such behavior.
Warning against the notion of “peace through force,” he argued that it paves the way for a lawless world, stating that the ramifications of such actions would not be confined to any single nation. The US's approach in Venezuela, he suggested, poses a threat to all countries and undermines the foundations of global order.
Baghaei urged the international community to acknowledge the long-term implications of tolerating such infringements on sovereignty, labeling it a precedent that jeopardizes collective global security. He reassured that the ambassador and staff of the Iranian Embassy are in good health, with ongoing monitoring of the situation concerning Iranian nationals in Venezuela. He noted that there are few Iranians in the country, and no incidents have been reported regarding their safety.
Baghaei confirmed that the governing system in Venezuela remains intact, emphasizing Iran's commitment to safeguarding its interests in the region.
