Iran (IMNA) - The ministry characterized the accusations as “misleading and deceptive,” asserting they are intended to divert attention from what it described as Israel’s ongoing war crimes in Gaza. The statement further charged that it is, in fact, the United States military that has entered into conflict with the Yemeni people to support “the genocide committed by the Zionist regime,” and accused the US of committing war crimes by targeting civilian infrastructure in various Yemeni cities.
Reiterating Iran’s position, the ministry emphasized that Yemen’s support for Palestinians is “an independent decision, rooted in the Yemeni people’s human and Islamic solidarity with their Palestinian brothers and sisters.” It described attempts to link Yemeni actions to Iran as a “deceptive claim” designed to obscure Israeli atrocities and justify further destabilization in the region.
The statement also reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of all countries, denouncing US military attacks on Yemen as “a blatant violation of the UN Charter and the fundamental rules of international law.” The ministry warned of “dangerous consequences” for security in West Asia and the Red Sea region if US strikes continue, and reiterated that the root cause of regional instability lies in the ongoing war and mass casualties in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Concluding the statement, the Foreign Ministry condemned recent threats by the United States and Israel against Iran, holding both Washington and Tel Aviv responsible for the consequences of any aggression against the Islamic Republic.
