Iran, European Powers Hold Expert-Level Nuclear Talks in Geneva

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, Kazem Gharibabadi, announced that expert-level discussions on nuclear issues and sanctions relief were held in Geneva on Thursday.

Iran (IMNA) - These talks were part of agreements reached during the fourth round of diplomatic negotiations between Iran and three European countries—France, Germany, and the UK. Gharibabadi described the discussions as specialized and technical in nature, focusing on critical aspects of the nuclear issue.

On the same day, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi had a phone conversation with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy. Araghchi reiterated Iran’s commitment to diplomatic engagement regarding its peaceful nuclear program but emphasized that negotiations under “maximum pressure” and “military threats” are futile. He also expressed dissatisfaction with Europe’s unconstructive actions, criticizing ongoing sanctions imposed under baseless pretexts. Araghchi urged the European powers to reconsider their approach toward Iran and regional matters in West Asia.
