Iran Condemns US Treatment of Immigrants, Calls It a Human Rights Violation

The Iranian Foreign Ministry has condemned the United States government for its "inappropriate and humiliating" treatment of immigrants, including Iranian nationals.

Iran (IMNA) - Spokesman Esmail Baghaei described the actions as unjustified and a violation of human rights standards, emphasizing the need for adherence to international norms. He labeled the "inhumane actions" of the US government against Iranian nationals as “unacceptable”.

Baghaei stated that the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is committed to protecting the rights of its citizens abroad and will take necessary measures to do so. He mentioned that instructions have been issued to Iran’s Interests Protection Office in Washington, D.C., as well as diplomatic missions in South America, to assist Iranian nationals who have been deported from the US.

“Iran is the homeland of all Iranians, and our compatriots can freely return to their homeland,” Baghaei affirmed, reiterating the Foreign Ministry’s readiness to facilitate their return and address related issues. His comments follow the arrival of the first flight carrying migrants from several countries, including Iran, which landed in Panama on Wednesday. Panamanian President José Raúl Mulino confirmed that 119 individuals from diverse nationalities were on board this flight.
