Iran's Foreign Ministry Honors General Soleimani on Martyrdom Anniversary

Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Esmail Baghaei, praised Martyr Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani for his significant contributions in combating terrorism across the region.

Iran (IMNA) - In a message shared on his X account to commemorate the anniversary of General Soleimani's martyrdom, Baghaei stated that while modern warfare often relies on "weapons, bombs, and piles of dead bodies," Soleimani was revered as the "commander of hearts." He emphasized that true greatness in generals is not measured by territorial conquests but by their ability to win hearts, ensuring that their legacies endure.

General Soleimani, alongside Abu Mahdi Muhandis, Deputy of Iraq’s Hashd al-Shaabi, and several companions, was killed in a US drone strike near Baghdad International Airport on January 3, 2020. This attack was executed under the direct orders of then-US President Donald Trump.
