Iranian Foreign Minister Stresses Enhanced Ties with Armenia for Regional Peace, Stability

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has emphasized that expanding Iran's comprehensive relations with Armenia will benefit both countries and contribute to peace, stability, and sustainable security in the region. Amir-Abdollahian made these remarks during a meeting with Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan in Tehran on Saturday.

Iran (IMNA) - The top Iranian diplomat underlined the importance of continuing joint efforts to promote cooperation in various political, economic, trade, scientific, and cultural fields. In late December, Amir-Abdollahian met with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan in Yerevan, discussing mutual relations and the latest regional issues, including the dispute between Armenia and Azerbaijan over the status of the Nagorno-Karabakh region.

Kostanyan, for his part, highlighted Armenia's significance in improving ties with Iran, which benefits regional stability and security. He also mentioned his fruitful talks with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani and the agreement to continue consultations at various levels.
