The meeting took place on Monday and underscored the importance of international cooperation in showcasing Iran's tourism potential.

Iranian President Calls for Action Against Iranophobia, Welcomes UN Support for Tourism Activists

In a recent meeting, the Iranian president emphasized the urgency of addressing the Iranophobia project initiated and fueled by certain Western nations. He underscored the necessity of launching a new initiative to counteract this project effectively. Additionally, President Raeisi expressed his satisfaction with the visit of the chairman of the UN tourism body to Tehran, interpreting it as a positive step towards greater support from the United Nations for tourism activists operating in Iran and the wider region.

UNWTO Secretary General, Zurab Pololikashvili, expressed his criticism towards the negative portrayal of the Islamic Republic of Iran by some Western media. During his visit to Iran, he emphasized the importance of showcasing Iran's rich culture, civilization, historical sites, and tourist attractions. Pololikashvili stated, "The Islamic Republic of Iran has tremendous potential in tourism, particularly in the field of medical tourism."

Furthermore, the UNWTO secretary general commended the Iranian government's significant step in enhancing Iran's tourism industry by canceling visas with numerous countries around the world.
