Iran, Saudi Arabia to Resume Umrah Hajj Flights Following Cooperation Agreement

Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, announced on Wednesday that Iran and Saudi Arabia's civil aviation organizations have reached an agreement to cooperate in the resumption of Umrah Hajj flights.

Iran (IMNA) - Speaking to reporters after attending a cabinet meeting, he confirmed that discussions with the Saudi Foreign Minister had resulted in a cooperation agreement, considering the suspension of Umrah Hajj for the past 7-8 years. The focus of the technical discussions was on restoring flights based on the new agreement, marking a significant step towards the normalization of travel between the two countries.

In a recent development, the minister confirmed that a delegation from the Saudi Arabian Aviation Organization has successfully concluded their technical discussions in our country. Speaking at a press conference, the minister stated, "Over the past days, the delegation visited our country and carried out their technical discussions in accordance with the routine procedure."

Furthermore, the minister revealed his plans for a phone conversation with his Saudi counterpart later today. Together, they will review the latest situation and discuss the ongoing efforts to address the technical problem. Emphasizing the transparency of the Saudi authorities, the minister added, "The Saudi authorities have openly communicated that they have issued the necessary instructions to resolve this technical problem and that the work is progressing smoothly."
