Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, the foreign minister of Saudi Arabia, will go to Iran on Saturday amid improving ties between the two Middle Eastern nations, according to official sources.

Iran (IMNA) -The senior Saudi ambassador will meet with Iranian officials on Saturday, according to sources on Thursday.

Prior to Prince Faisal's visit to Tehran, various outlets speculated about the Saudi embassy's potential reopening.

In accordance with a reconciliation deal mediated by China that repaired their ties severed seven years ago, Iran this week formally reopened its embassy in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

On March 10, Saudi Arabia and Iran reached an agreement in Beijing to restart diplomatic ties and reopen their posts within two months.

Following the agreement's signing, Tehran and Riyadh issued a joint statement emphasizing the need to respect one another's national sovereignty and refrain from meddling in one another's internal affairs.

They also agreed to put into effect a security cooperation agreement signed in April 2001 and a May 1998 pact to increase cooperation in business, investment, technology, science, culture, sports, and youth affairs.
