Speaker of Uzbek parliament visits Isfahan to forge ties

Nurdinjon Ismoilov, Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis (Parliament) of Uzbekistan, met with Reza Mortazavi, Governor-General of Isfahan, to explore paths to strengthen cultural connections.

Iran (IMNA) - Nurdinjon Ismoilov, who led a legislative delegation to Isfahan on Sunday morning, met and spoke with Isfahan Governor-General Reza Mortazavi.

Ismoilov and Mortazavi discussed the obstacles and opportunities associated with tourism.

Mortazavi expressed confidence that Ismoilov's visit to Isfahan will be a chance to strengthen bilateral commercial, tourist, and cultural connections.

He stated that Iran appreciates measures such as creating a sister city connection with Samarkand, citing the two nations' profound cultural and artistic links.

Ismailov, for his part, stated that his visit to Isfahan is in keeping with the growth of bilateral ties.

He stated that during his Saturday meeting with Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the president and speaker advocated the development of ties between Iran and Uzbekistan.

He noted that one of Uzbekistan's top goals is the development of tourism and that Isfahan, one of Iran's most popular tourist destinations, is the reason he travels there.
