Iran (IMNA) – As for expanding urban bike lanes in Tehran, Manaf Hashemi said, "According to this year's budget for Tehran's Department of Transportation, about 300 billion tomans of credit has been allotted to the expansion and improvement of walkways, as well as the cycle tracks; this notice has been passed on to the 22 municipal districts."
Pointing up that great moments will come off this year concerning the development and promotion of cycling culture in Tehran, he added, "500 billion tomans of credit has been distributed to the development of sidewalks and pedestrians. If we can take advantage of the credits to improve pedestrians and develop bicycle paths, a great step will be taken in this regard."
Tehran Municipality's Deputy Director for Transportation and City Traffic Department ended, "After designing adequate infrastructures in 22 municipal districts, we will put in all strategies to promote cycling as the efficient mode of transport, which is also good for both health and social distancing Observation."
