Iran (IMNA) - "In a meeting with Serov, the mayor of one of the St. Petersburg's districts, he offered to name a three-hectare park after Isfahan; they have already taken necessary action in this regard and they were ready to conclude an agreement based on pre-negotiations and discussions," Kurosh Mohammadi said.
"Although the proposal was welcomed by the mayor of Isfahan, he raised related expectations and urged that Isfahan Park be turned into a cultural center for Iranian students and Isfahani businessmen residing in St. Petersburg to show that the action is far beyond a simple naming," He added.
The head of the Commission on Environmental and Social Policy of Isfahan Islamic city council continued, "The park is located in the best metropolitan area in the Frunzensky District of St. Petersburg with a population of 400,000 people; the region is one of the major tourism path in the city. It was also proposed that one of the well-equipped municipal buildings in the region be completely transferred to Isfahan Municipality to become a cultural center to introduce Isfahan and promote ethical and religious behaviors."
"These proposals would lead to the final agreement after being approved by the city parliament. Ancient and cultural elements have already installed in the park; although the park is a glorious one at the moment, Iranian architects will turned it into a park similar to Iranian gardens", he said
