Iran (IMNA) – Pointing to the holding of creative industries exhibition in Isfahan, Mohammad Hossein Ghourchani said, "some processes should be completed so that we can make the utmost use of joining the Creative Cities Network."
Saying that our purpose is entering the field of creative economy that is centered on knowledge-based and creative industries, he noted, "local creative industries are based on art, culture, and urban creativities of Isfahan, and they can support exporting affairs and attracting tourists. We can export a part of our culture to other countries by exporting products, then we can influence other cities of the world culturally and artistically," he added.
The UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) was created in 2004 to promote cooperation with and among cities that have identified creativity as a strategic factor for sustainable urban development. The 180 cities which currently make up this network work together towards a common objective; placing creativity and cultural industries at the heart of their development plans at the local level and cooperating actively at the international level.
