The tourism deputy of Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization announced a plan for developing tourism brand in Iran.

Iran (IMNA) - After nearly two decades of policy making efforts to develop Iran's tourism brand by the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization, nothing has happened in this respect. In addition, despite creating many slogans to introduce Iran in the international arena, there is still no unique slogan reminding Iran's global image. Some countries have chosen a special color as their country's identity, as well as the brand and tourism slogan but no similar measures have been taken  in our country.

The brand of a country can significantly influence tourists' decision when choosing a destination (Blin et al. 2005). Attracting visitors can only be achieved through applying the concepts of branding and making efforts to create a positive image in the mind of tourists in present and future, so that they can choose a specific destination among many rivals (Grass, 2008).

The use of branding concepts in the country's tourism industry and its development is extremely inefficient. The central core of Iran's tourism brand has many major weaknesses and its identity has not been clearly defined. It seems that due to the lack of tourism brand, there has not been enough investment and development measures in the field of tourism services and facilities.
