The people of the capital Tehran and many other cities hold mourning processions on Thursday on 40th day of the martyrdom of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
Iran (IMNA)_ The massive ceremnoy in Tehran comes alongside similar events across cities in Iran over the past few days.
In Tehran, the mourning procession began on Thursday morning, with participants marching from Jomhouri Square to the site (Leader's Office and home) where Ayatollah Khamenei was assassinated in terrorist US-Israeli strikes.
The Leader was martyred alongside his daughter, son-in-law, grandchild, and a daughter-in-law, on the first day of the aggression by the Zionist regime and the United States on Iran on February 28th.
Crowds of Iranians had already taken to the streets in all cities across the nation to mourn Ayatollah Khamenei’s martyrdom. Iran has announced a 40-day national mourning period.
