Iran (IMNA) - Congratulating the Mayor of Isfahan on having a spotless, green and expanded city, Oumarou Dogari Moumouni, the Mayor of Niamey said, "I have met up with municipal managers in various departments; the efforts of urban management staff and the mayor of Isfahan are commendable."
Expressing his appreciation regarding Isfahan Municipality's warm welcomeness, Moumouni continued, "We had heard the good reputation of Isfahan, so we sought to see this metropolis closely."
Emphasizing that Isfahan is obviously of great importance in the world and recognized as a developed city, the Mayor of Niamey noted, "During my visit to Isfahan, I spent time in different departments of Transportation, Urban Regeneration and Waste Management. He expressed hope that in the framework of Islamic and fraternal cooperation between Iran and Niger, the ties, friendship and brotherhood between Niamey and Isfahan will be expanded not only in the economic sector but also in the cultural domains, then the city will witness the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation with Isfahan.
With a population of approximately 1,384,000, Niamey, the capital and largest city of Niger, is a modern city on the banks of the Niger River in the West Africa Sahel region. It is the administrative, cultural and economic center of the Republic of the Niger. According to Niger's Ministry of Interior (MOI), more than 98 percent of the population is Muslim, and the official languages are French and Arabic.
