The Night of Glory, Laylat Al Qadr, is one of the odd numbered holy nights in the last 10 days of Ramadan during which the first verses of the holy Quran were revealed to Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). As a result of this uncertainty, many Muslims will treat each odd-numbered day in the last ten days of Ramadan with further reverence.

Iran (IMNA) - The night preceding Imam Ali’s martyrdom is recognized to be one of the threefold Qadr Nights, when the Holy Qur’an was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBHU) more than 14 centuries ago.

Every year, all Muslims converge in mosques, places of worship and religious sites nationwide to mark the dignified occasion of Ghadr night and martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali (A.S) who received a blow with a poisoned sword on his head in the mosque of Kufa during morning prayer. During the ceremonies, verses of the holy Qur'an are recited and sermons delivered in honor of one of the most revered figures of Shia, Imam Ali (A.S).

Throughout the Night of Destiny, Muslims around the world hold vigils until daybreak, repent and pray.

Honoring the holy month of Ramadan, Prophet Muhammad (PBHU) said, “Verily this month has come to you; and therein is a night which is better than a thousand Months. Whosoever is deprived of it is deprived of all good; and none is deprived of its good except a totally unfortunate person.”

Surah Qadr is one of the best Surah that has been recommended to be recited in the nights of glory.

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

Indeed, ˹it’s˺ We ˹Who˺ sent this ˹Quran˺ down on the Night of Glory

And what will make you realize what the Night of Glory is?

The Night of Glory is better than a thousand months

That night the angels and the ˹holy˺ spirit descend, by the permission of their Lord, for every ˹decreed˺ matter

It is all peace until the break of dawn
