Muslims performed mourning rituals of Arba'een in Iraqi's holy city of Karbala to commemorate the seventh-century martyrdom of Prophet Mohammad's grandson Imam Hussein. Every year, Muslims from all over the world flock to Karbala to pay tribute to Imam Hussain (PBUH) and his brother Abbas ibn Ali (AS) 40th day after the anniversary of their martyrdom.
