Mounting deaths from the latest surge in Delta variant of COVID -19 have put the morgues and funeral homes under pressure across Iran.
Iran (IMNA) - Hospitals in Iran have reported that roughly 500 patients die every day, according to Ministry of Health and Medical Education. While Iran’s record levels of new cases and deaths for the infection have leveled off over the past weeks, the averages of daily reported deaths have continued to climb.
Due to the mortuaries now being to full capacity, the bereaved relatives are requested to make immediate arrangements for handling the body of their loved ones from the morgues to the burial site. You see hundreds coming to the funeral parlour daily; some of them should wait for hours to get their relatives’ bodies as there is no capacity to manage the surge in deaths.
