The historic (Bagh-e Eram) in Shiraz is among the most beautiful Persian gardens of Iran.

Iran (IMNA) – Eram Garden (Bagh-e Eram) which is situated along the northern shore of the Khoshk River in Shiraz is one of the most famous and beautiful Persian Gardens across Iran. This historic and botanical garden was inscribed on UNESCO's world heritage sites. Eram Garden presents you a unique compilation of history and nature.

No one knows who exactly built this garden, but some people believe that one of the chiefs of Qashqai tribes ordered to make this garden during the middle of the 13th century. It was renovated and developed significantly during the Qajar dynasty.

Qashqai tribe Chiefs were the owners of this garden for about 75 years. Currently, the garden is under the possession of the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Shiraz, and the Faculty of Law runs the mansion.

The garden was constructed in a big square space, now it covers around 110318 square meters. Garden's perimeter is home to fruit trees such as pomegranates, sour oranges, persimmons, olives, and walnuts. A wide range of beautiful sub-tropical plants are on display in the rock garden part. The beautiful 200-year old cypress trees attract visitors from around the world to the garden.

There is a three-storey building in the middle of the garden which attracts everybody's attention: It is ornamented by numerous inscriptions and alluring paintings, and its unique ceramic tiles add to its beauty. Short animated stories are painted on the tiles of the arches. In addition, poems of famous Iranian literary figures like Hafez, Saadi, and Shourideh Shirazi are carved on the columns of the building. Also, the museum of precious stones inside the palace can be surprising to see.

The best time to visit this garden is spring when its colorful blooms and blossoms catches the attentions. Moreover, the sound of birds singing in the garden brings peace to the area. The garde is quite pleasurable to take a stroll around.
