Devastating impact of coronavirus outbreak in Iran would be considered as an alert to humanity. It reminds us that the only reality in the world is to seize the moments of happiness, love and be loved, all else is folly!

Iran (IMNA) - Dark and overwhelming winter ends and the first chapter of life starts. spring comes again, sun begins to regain strength, sheds its light on the earth and things are coming to life; flowering trees and blooming flowers. Indeed, spring is the season of rebirth, renewal and awakening and this is the nature’s message to us.

During Nowruz Iranian people celebrate Persian new year. But, this year spreading Coronavirus in Iran during Nowruz holidays has made us start thinking more about concept of life and death. COVID-19 as a pandemic reminds us that we are still alive, we are survivors having the chance of survival. So, we got spring’s message. In this sense, prominent Russian writer, Leo Tolstoy says we try to “seize the moments of happiness, love and be loved! That’s the only reality in the world, all else is folly. It is the one thing we are interested in here.”

Furthermore, Hafez, renowned Persian poet put into words his pure feeling about spring and moments of happiness as follows:

Spring and all its flowers
Now joyously break their vow of silence.
It is time for celebration, not for lying low;
You too — weed out those roots of sadness from your heart.

The Sabaa wind arrives;
And in deep resonance, the flower

Passionately rips open its garments,
Thrusting itself from itself.

The Way of Truth, learn from the clarity of water,
Learn freedom from the spreading grass.

Pay close attention to the artistry of the Sabaa wind,
That wafts in pollen from afar,
And ripples the beautiful tresses
Of the fields of hyacinth flowers.

From the privacy of the harem, the virgin bud slips out,
Revealing herself under the morning star,
Branding your heart and your faith
With beauty.

And frenzied bulbul flies madly out of the House of Sadness
To unite with the flowers;
Its love-crazed cry like a thousand-trumpet blast.

Hafez says, and the experienced old ones concur:

All you really need
Is to tell those Stories
Of the Fair Ones and the Goblet of Wine.
