Isfahan’s municipal trucks are spraying highly touched surfaces, streets and sidewalks daily to slow the spread of COVID-19. Dozens of hazmat-suited workers wearing backpack tanks are also disinfecting sidewalks in Isfahan by antiseptic solutions.

Iran (IMNA) - Isfahan municipality has made a great effort so far to disinfect public spaces in the city that might have been in danger of corona virus outbreak. The measures include regular disinfection of buses, metro stations, waste stations, taxis, transport vehicles and public facilities.

Coronaviruses (CoV) are a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS). The 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV), also known as the Wuhan coronavirus, is a new strain that has not been previously identified in humans.

Coronaviruses are zoonotic, meaning they are transmitted between animals and people. Detailed investigations found that SARS-CoV was transmitted from civet cats to humans and MERS-CoV from dromedary camels to humans. Several known coronaviruses are circulating in animals that have not yet infected humans.

The symptoms of the new coronavirus are similar to the early symptoms of influenza and other viral respiratory diseases.
