"With the establishment of Novel Coronavirus Response Headquarters in the municipality, we will be able to monitor the public spaces of the city; I seriously urge citizens to practice personal hygiene and pay attention to what has been announced by the authorities in the Ministry of Health," the mayor of Isfahan said.
“Isfahan municipality made a great effort last week to disinfect public spaces in the city that might have been in danger of corona virus outbreak. The measures include regular disinfection of buses, metro stations, waste stations, taxis, transport vehicles and public facilities,” Ghodratollah Norouzi said.
Mayor of Isfahan noted that all passenger terminals in Isfahan will also be disinfected, and in general the municipality has coordinated preventive measures with related bodies to prevent the spread of the virus.
"Alarming content and infographics have been produced and installed by the Municipal Cultural Department in the public spaces of the city as well as the public transport fleet to be displayed for citizens," he emphasized.
"Good measures have also been taken to secure municipal staff and affiliated organizations, such as urban and public transport personnel who are most at risk of contracting the virus; based on the type of their jobs, gloves, masks and other protective items have been distributed, " Norouzi countinued.
"Considering current epidemic conditions, preventive and educational measures will be developed at a higher level, and we are ready to cooperate in all fields with the special staff at Novel Coronavirus Response Headquarters," the mayor emphasized.
