Iran - (IMNA) - "Isfahan Municipality in cooperation with the Grand Mosalla Mosque Cultural Complex, has increased the car parking capacity of Isfahan Mosalla to 200; the project is ready to be fully exploited during the Fajr decade," the mayor of Isfahan said.
Pointing to the implementation of two super development projects in the city, Ghodratollah Norouzi noted, "Second metro line project and the city protection ring have been designed in accordance to the solutions for urban problems; they are considered as high-outcome projects."
Mayor of Isfahan emphasized, "The two projects are the biggest urban infrastructure measures to reduce Isfahan's air pollution."
Norouzi continued, "Citizens are definitely expecting some polluting industries around Isfahan to pay for the pollution they incur; by helping to proceed these projects and realizing citizen's rights, industries should restitute for it. "
The air pollution has been worsened in Isfahan during autumn, when a lack of rain or wind as well as the cold air traps hazardous particles over the city for days. Most of the city's pollution is caused by refineries, motor vehicles and power plants.
In recent years, Iranian officials have made all-out efforts to solve Iran's air pollution, including applying restrictions on the city's traffic flow, promoting walking and cycling and executing regulations urging safer fuel and replacing old cars with new ones.
