Today, the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Isfahan is recorded at 156 (in average) which represent the poor quality.

Isfahan (IMNA) - The air pollution has been worsened in Isfahan during autumn, when a lack of rain or wind as well as the cold air traps hazardous particles over the city for days. Most of the city's pollution is caused by refineries, motor vehicles and power plants.

In recent years, Iranian officials have made all-out efforts to solve Iran's air pollution, including applying restrictions on the city's traffic flow, promoting walking and cycling and executing regulations urging safer fuel and replacing old cars with new ones.
