Iran (IMNA) - For the 10th anniversary of the Science and Technology Park of the University of Porto (UPTEC), FAHR 021.3 designed a creative urban décor and sculpture which is called LOOP.
The Science and Technology Park of the University of Porto (UPTEC) was established in order to promote fruitful relationships between the university and the market. In fact, professional and technological exchanges between the worlds of academia and business is a desire for both scholars and businessmen.
Scholars present innovations and novel ideas to the world and men of business bring those origin ideas into existence through investment management. Such a positive communication between university and market results in a scientific and technological growth of start-ups and companies.
UPTEC celebrated its anniversary by installing LOOP-- an iconic and creative sculpture in the garden area in front of UPTEC’s central offices. LOOP is the symbol of innovative spirit and also physical reminder of the institution’s commitment to engage with the outside world. In addition, LOOP is a brilliant sculpture for the Asperla Campus Park, established between 2011 and 2015 to develop green spaces between the Engineering Faculty (FEUP) and the Economics Faculty (FEP) of Porto University in Paranhos, Porto.
On the other hand, LOOP is a kind of circular concrete bench and its deconstructive form suggesting that repetition is never the same. This great innovation acts as a meeting point and stops any passers-by and gives them a new opportunity to engage with the landscape and urban environment.
