The holy shrine of Imam Ali (PBUH) is hosting pilgrims who have flocked to Iraq for the world's greatest pilgrimage.

Iran (IMNA) - Two days ahead of Arbaeen Day, pilgrims from different countries have arrived to Iraq in order to visit the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali (PBUH), and then continuing their march towards Imam Hussain Holy Shrine located in Karbala City.

At this moment, thousands of Shia pilgrims are converging on the holy city of Kerbala for the Arbaeen religious commemoration; it is estimated that, the number of pilgrims will reach to millions in Karbala.

Shite Muslims from all Islamic countries around the world join the Arbaeen March in Iraq every year, as a sign of religious ritual for the commemoration of martyrdom the third Shia Imam, Husayn ibn Ali's (PBUH) in 680.

Arba'een pilgrimage has become an overwhelmingly powerful display of Shia belief and solidarity in the world arena.
