Pointing out that the reputation of the Forests, Range and Watershed Management Organization of the country depends on the protection measures toward the Zagros Mountains forests, Khalil Aghayi said, "the preservation and development of the floristic biodiversity of the region is the first priority of the organization as the body is evaluated according to the taken measures in this regard."

Iran (IMNA) - "Today, the issue of afforestation and increasing per capita forest area is vital for the country; if the measures taken on the behalf of  the organization result in an increase of one per cent per capita forest area and vegetation, the country will certainly be successful in organizing forests," the head of Iran's Forests, Range and Watershed Management Organization said.

Saying that monitoring and evaluation of the physical progress of protection activities is very important, he noted, "by the end of the month of September, the biological measures such as identifying the seedlings should be carried out in order to start the planting during the months of October and November."

"As related to the afforestation, planting or sowing seeds will not exceed the forest zone and all the processes will take place in the specified zone," Khalil Aghayi  said.

Pointing out that the reputation of the Forests, Range and Watershed Management Organization of the country depends on the protection measures toward the Zagros Mountains forests, Khalil Aghayi said, "the policy of the organization is clear in this regard; by considering the climatic and soil conditions, the amount of water and the placement of seedlings, a clear analysis of the conditions must be defined as soon as possible."
