Iran is now struggling with the most prolonged and severe drought in over 30 years and the drought and associated water shortage has escalated to the level of a disaster.

Iran (IMNA) - The worst-hit areas have been the central regions like Isfahan province. People live in this area have experienced very low rainfall for years. As a result, the Zayandeh Roud River that flowed down from the Zagros Mountains through the city of Isfahan and a string of farming areas has been dried up for years. The river which is one of the Iran's main tourist attraction has backed after months and people have now gathered along the river to celebrate its coming back to the home.
