Isfahan; capital of ecotourism residences in Iran

Isfahan has taken the first place in having numerous ecotourism residences in Iran as it has more than 270 active ecotourism residences.

Isfahab (IMNA) - “One of the important events that gained attention in recent years, is the balanced development of creating ecotourism residences in different areas of the province specially in counties like Golpayegan; as it has sustainable tourism capacities and many historical-cultural monuments,” the head of Isfahan’s cultural heritage, handicrafts, and tourism organization said.

Saying that most of the private sector investors will enter into the field of creating ecotourism residences, he said: “Considering the tourism capacity of Golpayegan, tourism development and increasing the capacity of ecotourism residences are the priorities of Isfahan’s cultural heritage organization. The cultural heritage organization provides special facilities in this field, especially in rural areas."

“One of the characteristics of Golpayegan is the historicity and archeology of petroglyphs dicovered there, which are located in Kucheri and Gharghab area. A significant number of Iranian central plateau’s petroglyphs, which are among the historical valuable monuments, are sparsely distributed in different areas. However, Golpayegan county has the most distinctive petroglyphs in terms of number and variety," Allahyari said.

Shoja Nezam House in Golpayegan County, Seifi house in Saeed Abad village, Majidi house in Gharghab village, Sara-ye Karbalai Fereydun in Hassan Hafez area are among Goplayegan’s ecotourism houses,” he added.

“By considering the capacities and potentials of the counties in our province, especially in Golpayegan, brand and event creating will be the most important actions in this regard. It is necessary to create events to identify the capacities, and introduce the brands and capacities based on the created events,” He said.
