Iran’s 18th National Handicrafts Exhibition Opens in Hamedan

The 18th National Handicrafts Exhibition opened in Hamedan on Monday in the presence of the governor of Hamedan and the deputy minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts at the city’s permanent international fairground.

Iran (IMNA) - The exhibition features handicrafts and traditional arts from 29 provinces across Iran, presented in 181 booths. It will remain open to visitors every day from 4:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. through August 21.

Mohsen Masoum Alizadeh, director general of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Hamedan Province, said on the sidelines of the event that 53 booths have been allocated to exhibitors from Hamedan, while 33 booths represent other parts of the province.

According to Alizadeh, the exhibition showcases a wide range of handicrafts, including precious and semi-precious stones, leather goods, woodturning, wood marquetry, mirror work, pottery painting, gilding, crocheting, carpet repairing, Pateh embroidery, traditional embroidery, doll weaving, traditional jewelry, turquoise inlay, copper engraving and geometric woodwork.

Pottery and ceramics, leather goods, carving and furniture, kilim weaving, cutting of precious and semi-precious stones, wood and metal marquetry, copper engraving, woodturning and bead weaving are also among the other handicrafts presented at the event.
