Iran (IMNA) - Special farewell and funeral rituals for the martyred Leader and his family initially kicked off on Friday, July 3. During that ceremony, political officials from more than 45 countries, alongside scholars and religious figures from over 90 nations, paid tribute to the Leader's body. On Saturday, July 4, and Sunday, July 5, Tehran's Imam Khomeini (RA) Mosalla hosted a farewell ceremony, followed by a funeral in the capital on Monday, July 6, which drew millions of mourners.
The ceremonies continued on Tuesday, July 7, with funeral and farewell rituals held at Jamkaran Mosque in the holy city of Qom, marked by a significant turnout. On Wednesday, July 8, Iraqi citizens in the cities of Najaf and Karbala staged an unprecedented epic funeral, with Iraqi officials officially announcing that nearly four million people attended, including numerous Iraqi religious and political figures.
The body of the martyred Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and his family members is scheduled to be buried in the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) in Mashhad on Thursday, July 9, coinciding with the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Sajjad (Peace Be Upon Him).
