Hormuz Strait an Iran-Oman Matter, No Room for Foreign Interference: Rezaei

Major General Mohsen Rezaei, military adviser to the commander-in-chief, stated that Iran will not allow the United States or European countries to manage or interfere in the Strait of Hormuz, describing the strategic waterway as an issue that concerns only Iran and Oman.

Iran (IMNA) - In remarks to Russia's Sputnik news agency, Rezaei said no third party has the right to intervene in the management of the passage.

“We will not allow America or European countries to take over the management of this strategic route,” he was quoted as saying.

Rezaei noted that around 30 ships pass through the Strait of Hormuz each day and said Iran is prepared to accommodate even higher levels of maritime traffic.

He also claimed that the United States has been preventing the movement of some vessels that were scheduled to travel along pre-determined sea routes.
