IRGC Aerospace Force Strikes US Navy 5th Fleet Headquarters in Retaliation for US Attacks

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that its Aerospace Force carried out missile and drone strikes on the headquarters of the US Navy’s 5th Fleet, describing the operation as retaliation for recent US attacks on Iranian assets.

Iran (IMNA) – According to an official statement released by the IRGC’s public relations office, the strikes represent the latest and most significant action in a chain of retaliatory operations following US military aggression in and around the Strait of Hormuz.

The statement said that in the final hours of the previous night, US forces targeted an Iranian oil tanker near the Strait of Hormuz with an airborne projectile, damaging the vessel’s engine room. In response, the IRGC Navy struck the vessel Panaya, which was described as being linked to the United States.

The United States then carried out a second attack, hitting an IRGC telecommunications tower in the southern part of Qeshm Island with airborne projectiles. Following this action, the IRGC Aerospace Force launched missile and drone strikes against a US air base and helicopter base located in one of the regional countries, as well as the headquarters of the US Navy’s 5th Fleet.

The IRGC emphasized that it had previously warned that any continued aggression would be met with a different and heavier response, adding that the latest actions were taken in line with that warning. The statement said the responses should serve as a lesson.

Reiterating its position, the IRGC warned that disrupting the security of the **Strait of Hormuz** would impose a heavy cost on the American military.
