IAF Honors Minab School Martyrs Through Artistic and Musical Tribute

The Iranian Artists Forum (IAF) in the capital is currently holding a commemorative event for the martyred students of Shajareh Tayyebeh Elementary School, located in Minab, within the southern province of Hormozgan.

Iran (IMNA) - Titled "Absence Presence," this five-day program opened on Monday and is being carried out in partnership with the Iranian House of Cinema, the House of Theater, and the House of Music, as reported by Mehr.

According to the report, the event takes place each evening at 7:30 p.m. in the IAF's open-air courtyard.

The schedule includes musical performances, street theater, and a range of artistic showcases by well-known artists, providing attendees with a unique experience each night.

This effort is being arranged through cooperation between the IAF and Tehran Municipality’s District 6, with backing from the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture.

On February 28, the Shajareh Tayyebeh Elementary School in Minab, Hormozgan Province, turned into the location of a horrific massacre when the United States and Israel launched their attacks on Iran.

As dozens of boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 12 were starting their lessons, a missile struck the school, causing the building to collapse and trapping children and teachers under the debris. Iranian authorities confirmed that 168 people lost their lives, with at least 95 others injured, marking it as one of the most tragic incidents on the first day of the conflict.

Even though US and Israeli officials tried to deny responsibility for the carnage as images of the tragedy spread through social media, detailed forensic and digital investigations have revealed a starkly different reality.

An examination by Al Jazeera’s digital investigations unit, drawing on over ten years of satellite imagery and recent video footage, showed that the school was a clearly identifiable civilian structure, separated from any nearby military locations for at least a decade. Additionally, witness statements and satellite-based analyses confirmed that three distinct, intentional strikes hit the school, leaving no ambiguity about the attack's nature.

The international community has been faced with growing evidence concerning accountability for this atrocity, with probes from leading global outlets such as The New York Times, BBC Verify, CBC, and NPR all reaching the conclusion that the United States carried out the strike.

These discoveries have raised serious questions about the intelligence used to justify the bombing, as the strike patterns point to a deliberate assault on a civilian educational facility. The Minab school tragedy now remains a grim testament to the immense human toll of the aggression and a central point for those calling for international accountability.
