Iran (IMNA) - In an interview with Lebanon’s Al-Mayadeen television network on Monday, the unnamed Iranian official stated, “The control of the Strait of Hormuz is completely in Iran’s hands.”
Describing the development as a direct message from the Islamic Republic’s armed forces to Washington, the source added, “Our message to the Americans is that if they come forward, they will be targeted.”
The official further warned that continued hostile actions by the United States could result in an expansion of Iran’s operational management of the strategic waterway. “Continued US hostile actions will likely lead to the expansion of the experience of managing the Strait of Hormuz and its extension to similar cases,” he said.
The Strait of Hormuz, a vital chokepoint for global oil shipments, has long been a focal point of tensions between Tehran and Washington.
