Agreement could be in reach if US abandons totalitarianism

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that the possibility of reaching an agreement remains alive, provided that Washington abandons totalitarian approach.

Iran (IMNA) - “If the American government abandons its totalitarianism and respects the rights of the Iranian nation, ways to reach an agreement will certainly be found,” Pezeshkian wrote on X.

According to the Wall Street Journal, despite sharp rhetoric from both Tehran and Washington, diplomatic channels are still open. The report noted that several regional countries are actively seeking to bring the United States and Iran back to the negotiating table to curb rising tensions and prevent further escalation.

In a related development, Waseem Abbasi, a journalist for Pakistan’s Arab News, cited diplomatic sources saying that momentum is building for the next phase of talks. He claimed that U.S.–Iran negotiations could resume in the coming days with Pakistan’s facilitation, either in Islamabad or in a European location.

On Sunday, Pakistan hosted indirect talks between Washington and Tehran in Islamabad. Despite several hours of intensive discussions and some signs of progress, significant differences reportedly persisted.
