Iran raps West's silence on US-Israeli attacks on Bushehr nuclear plant

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has harshly reacted to the silence and double standard of Western countries on the repeated US and Israeli attacks on Iran's Bushehr nuclear facility.

Iran (IMNA) _"Remember the Western outrage about hostilities near Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine?" Araghchi wrote in a post on his X account on Saturday, reminding the Western reactions followed after a missile targeted the Ukrainian thermal power station during Kyiv's conflict with Russia.

"Israel-US have bombed our Bushehr plant four times now. Radioactive fallout will end life in GCC capitals, not Tehran," the top Iranian diplomat noted in his post, warning the US and its Western and regional allies about the potential consequences of attacks on the Iranian nuclear plant.

Araghchi also denounced the attacks on Iran's petrochemicals, saying such actions of the aggressors "convey [their] real objectives."

The US and the Israeli regime have repeatedly targeted Iranian facilities under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) since they launched their war of aggression late last month.

Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant has been struck by projectiles four times. The Natanz enrichment complex in Isfahan, the Ardakan plant in Yazd, and the Khondab heavy water complex in Arak are among the other targets of the US-Israeli strikes.

The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) has already criticized the IAEA for its inaction in the face of illegal attacks on Iranian facilities, describing the silence as “clear complicity with the perpetrators.”
