Recent Attacks Result in High Child Casualty Count in Iran

Government Spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani, speaking at a press conference held at Gandhi Hospital, addressed recent attacks by the United States and the Israeli regime on civilian infrastructure.

Iran (IMNA) - Mohajerani detailed the damage to the healthcare sector, noting that 52 healthcare facilities were targeted and 11 medical personnel lost their lives.

She further emphasized the resilience of Iran's infrastructure and the government's commitment to meeting essential needs, stating that despite extensive attacks on refineries and oil storage facilities, the national fuel distribution network was restored within 24 hours, and there are currently no issues in supplying fuel or essential goods.

Reaffirming the government's full preparedness to confront potential attacks on urban infrastructure, she announced careful market management to prevent any harm to citizens' livelihoods. All service and medical agencies are on full alert to rapidly provide necessary infrastructure and temporary housing in  provinces should citizens need to relocate.

Mohajerani concluded that the government is working diligently to minimize the impact of this unequal conflict on the daily lives of the people.

The government spokesperson stated that during this period, 206 women and children were affected, including 193 martyrs under the age of 18 – considered children by international standards. The youngest female martyr was eight months old, and the youngest female injury survivor was four months old.
