Iran (IMNA) - Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said Pelosi had openly called on the US administration to “cripple” Iran’s economy so that ordinary people, including those in rural areas, would “feel the pain.”
Writing on X, Baghaei said deliberately inflicting pain and suffering on civilians for political leverage constitutes “the textbook definition of terrorism,” adding that only what he described as an “evil and arrogant mindset” could justify policies built on the suffering of civilians in another country.
He further argued that, from a legal standpoint, such statements provide additional evidence of a deliberate and systematic US policy aimed at imposing pain and cruelty on populations it opposes, concluding that this conduct amounts to a “crime against humanity.”
