Iran (IMNA) - In a post on X on Wednesday, Araghchi wrote that whenever Adelson’s media platform advances sensational claims about Iran, audiences should consider the agenda behind them. He added that even the US president has acknowledged where Adelson’s primary loyalties lie.
Referring to the outlet’s latest report, Araghchi said it claimed—just one hour before Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to the White House—that Iran had “deceived” former US President Donald Trump and had carried out “executions” of Iranian protesters, according to Press TV.
The foreign minister firmly dismissed those assertions, stressing that no executions have occurred, no judicial process has been finalized, and that more than 2,000 prisoners have instead been granted pardons.
The report was published by Israel Hayom, a daily owned by Adelson, as Netanyahu prepared for his Washington visit—an engagement widely seen as aimed at obstructing diplomatic efforts between Tehran and Washington. Both sides have so far voiced cautious optimism regarding the ongoing talks.
Adelson, a casino tycoon and the widow of Republican mega-donor Sheldon Adelson, has become one of Trump’s most powerful financial supporters. Records filed with the US Federal Election Commission show she contributed $100 million to a pro-Trump political action committee in the most recent election cycle, making her his largest individual donor.
