Iran Warns It Will Respond to Escalation of Hostile Rhetoric

The Commander-in-Chief of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran has warned that Tehran considers the escalation of hostile rhetoric against the Iranian nation a direct threat and will not allow it to go unanswered.

Iran (IMNA) - Major General Amir Hatami made the remarks while addressing students of the 86th course at the Army’s Command and Staff University. He described the current global situation as a period marked by efforts to form a “new world order,” noting that such developments have generated security challenges at global, regional, and national levels, leading to widespread instability and insecurity.

Referring to historical developments in West Asia, Hatami cited the collapse of the Ottoman Empire and the establishment of what he described as the “ominous Zionist regime” as actions taken by global powers in the region. He recalled a statement by former US President Joe Biden following Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, in which Biden said that if the Israeli regime did not exist, it would need to be created. According to Hatami, this statement explains why the United States continues to support the Israeli regime despite what he described as its crimes, adding that the regime functions as a proxy base for the West and therefore holds strategic importance for them.

Hatami emphasized that Iran’s strategic position, together with the ideals and principles of the Islamic Revolution, has significantly increased the country’s capabilities. He said Iran’s enemies are seeking to deprive the country of these capacities by targeting its sources of national power.

As a member of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Hatami identified the Iranian nation and the Leader of the Islamic Revolution as the two fundamental pillars of Iran’s power, adding that these are the pillars toward which enemies direct their greatest hostility.

Addressing recent livelihood-related protests, Hatami said the demonstrations were not connected to the US president or the Israeli prime minister. He praised the Iranian people’s conduct, saying they acted wisely by distancing themselves from rioters and refusing to align with what he described as the agendas of the US president and the Israeli prime minister. He described the people’s dignity, patience, vigilance, and insight as a source of pride and said he bows in respect to the nation as a soldier.

In another part of his speech, Hatami said Iran’s armed forces—including the Army, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and law enforcement and security forces—along with the Iranian people and the Commander-in-Chief, achieved what he called a historic moment of pride during the imposed 12-day war. He stressed the importance of examining the root causes of the war to gain a clearer understanding of Iran’s position and the enemy’s future plans.

Hatami added that the Army is pursuing a clear path and objectives and has remained fully committed to carrying out its critical mission. Referring to hostile rhetoric and foreign interference in Iran’s internal affairs, he said the readiness of Iran’s armed forces is now far higher than before the war. He warned that any enemy miscalculation would be met with a more decisive response, stating that “the hands of any aggressor would be cut off.”

Reiterating Iran’s position, Hatami said the country views the escalation of hostile rhetoric against the Iranian nation as a threat and will not allow its continuation to go unanswered. In conclusion, he warned that any act of aggression against Iran would have far-reaching consequences and reaffirmed that the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran will act with full force to defend the country’s independence, territorial integrity, and political system. He assured the public that their security will be preserved and said he proudly considers himself devoted to the nation, declaring his readiness to sacrifice his life for even a one-day-old Iranian child anywhere in the country.
