Gaza, Iran Feature Prominently in Trump–Netanyahu Talks in Florida

U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held talks in Florida, with Gaza and Iran topping the agenda of discussions on key regional and international issues.

Iran (IMNA) - According to Al Jazeera, the meeting took place at Trump’s private residence in Mar-a-Lago, where the two sides reviewed several files related to Middle East developments. Trump said the talks covered five major issues, highlighting Gaza and Iran as central topics.

On Gaza, Trump claimed that reaching an agreement quickly would require the disarmament of Hamas, despite Hamas officials rejecting any such move. He also expressed hope that the process would soon advance to the second phase of the Gaza plan, adding that reconstruction of the Gaza Strip would begin in the near future.

Trump also repeated claims reported by some Israeli media outlets, alleging that Iran is seeking to rebuild its nuclear capabilities. He warned that if Iran were to do so, the United States would destroy them. He further claimed that Iran is interested in negotiations, asserting that pursuing an agreement would be wiser than rebuilding nuclear capabilities.

In addition, Trump alleged that Iran could have reached a diplomatic agreement with the United States prior to last summer’s attacks.

These claims were reiterated despite the fact that Iran was engaged in talks with the United States at the time. According to acknowledgments by U.S. officials and media outlets, Washington was simultaneously coordinating with the Israeli regime to prepare aggression against Iran, an action Trump later admitted he had ordered.
