Iran (IMNA) - The remarks were made on Wednesday during a meeting in Tehran with a group of political elites, prominent figures, and party secretaries.
Referring to sanctions imposed on Iran, Pezeshkian said Tehran had previously engaged in negotiations with Washington and was prepared to reach an agreement, but the United States undermined the process by resorting to war.
He added that the US is once again proposing humiliating conditions for talks, which he said he is not willing to accept, emphasizing that Iran will not tolerate humiliation or weakness.
The president underlined that Iran is not seeking confrontation, reiterating that Tehran has repeatedly declared it is not pursuing the construction of a nuclear bomb and is prepared to accept any form of verification.
However, he noted that the opposing side is attempting to strip Iran of its elements of power and weaken the country in the face of the Zionist regime. While Iran seeks peace, he said, it will not accept bullying.
Outlining Iran’s foreign policy approach, Pezeshkian drew a clear distinction between dignified engagement and submission to coercion and intimidation.
He stated that Iran is ready for talks if the other side is genuinely concerned about nuclear weapons, but firmly rejected any negotiations related to Iran’s defensive missile capabilities.
Pezeshkian emphasized that his administration is pursuing peace, regional stability, and interaction with neighboring countries, while refusing to accept humiliating impositions.
He also dismissed claims that his cabinet’s call for participation reflects a lack of planning, saying the administration has clear strategic programs that are already being implemented.
According to the president, very positive developments have been achieved in areas including education, healthcare, transportation, the expansion of foreign interactions with neighboring states, and efforts to address structural imbalances.
