Iran (IMNA) – Highlighting that Iran is one of the main victims of terrorism, he emphasized the country’s consistent position at the forefront of anti-terrorism efforts.
Gharibabadi referred to the recent joint anti-terrorism drill between the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and Iran, named the “Sahand-2025 joint anti-terrorism exercise,” hosted by the IRGC Ground Forces in East Azarbaijan Province in northwest Iran. He noted that the exercise involved the participation of 18 high-ranking delegations from SCO member states and regional security organizations.
Pointing to the fruitful experiences and capabilities of Iran’s armed forces in confronting any threats to the country’s security and territorial integrity, Gharibabadi described hosting the exercise as an act of alignment and coalition-building aimed at fostering new regional security cooperation.
He added that the Islamic Republic of Iran has valuable experience in addressing all forms and dimensions of terrorism, and that this exercise provides a platform for sharing knowledge and transferring experiences among SCO member states.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) hosted the Sahand-2025 joint anti-terrorism exercise with SCO member states in East Azarbaijan Province on Monday.
