Iran (IMNA) - During their meeting, the two senior diplomats exchanged views on bilateral relations as well as the latest regional and international developments.
Araghchi and Fidan emphasized the necessity of enhancing collaboration in economic, trade, tourism, transit, energy, technology, healthcare, cultural, and security fields, in addition to joint efforts to combat terrorism and organized crime.
The catastrophic situation in Gaza and the West Bank was also a major focus of the discussions between the two foreign ministers.
Both sides stressed the urgent need to halt Israeli crimes against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. They reiterated the importance of respecting national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and unity, while strongly condemning the continued attacks and aggression by the Zionist regime. They called for immediate international action to stop the regime’s gross violations of international law and confront its hegemonic and warmongering policies.
Fidan arrived in Tehran earlier on Sunday, where he was welcomed by his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi.
He is also scheduled to hold meetings with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and senior foreign policy adviser Ali Akbar Velayati.
