Tehran–Islamabad Cooperation Highlighted as Key to Confronting Shared Threats

Iran’s secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) says Iran and Pakistan hold a pivotal role in addressing mutual threats, particularly terrorism.

Iran (IMNA) - During a meeting in Rawalpindi with Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Ali Larijani emphasized the essential role of Tehran and Islamabad in confronting common challenges and reinforcing regional security.

Both sides underlined the necessity of expanding defense and security cooperation between the two neighboring countries. Larijani stressed that continued collaboration between Iran and Pakistan contributes significantly to maintaining stability and sustainable security across the region.

Field Marshal Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and stability, noting that stronger cooperation with Iran is crucial for countering terrorism and responding effectively to emerging geopolitical conditions. He also highlighted the increasing importance of sustained security coordination between the two capitals.

Larijani and Munir additionally reviewed the latest regional security landscape and geopolitical developments, agreeing to maintain regular dialogue and deepen shared security priorities.
