Iran (IMNA) - In an interview with Al Jazeera, Araghchi stated, “We are prepared for any scenario and expect hostile behavior from the Zionist regime. We are at the apex of preparedness at all levels. Israel will suffer another defeat in any future war.”
The foreign minister noted that Iran had gained valuable experience from the recent conflict, saying, “We have tested our missiles in real battle. If the Zionist regime launches an attack, it will come with dire consequences for it.”
Araghchi further said that Israel sought to expand the scope of the war by targeting Iran’s oil facilities, but Tehran “managed to handle the war excellently and prevented it from spreading across the region.” He stressed that the Israeli regime would not have been able to wage war without U.S. approval, adding, “Netanyahu is a war criminal, and it has been proven to the region that its real enemy is Israel.”
Touching on nuclear issues, Araghchi reiterated Iran’s readiness for dialogue while rejecting U.S. preconditions. “We are ready to talk to address concerns about our nuclear program and emphasize its peaceful nature. A fair agreement is possible, but Washington’s preconditions are impossible and unacceptable. There will be no negotiations on our missile program. It would be foolish to hand over one’s weapons,” he said.
The minister also made clear that Iran will not halt uranium enrichment. “What is not achieved by war cannot be achieved through political means. We are not willing to negotiate directly with Washington, but an agreement through indirect dialogue is possible.”
Referring to the aftermath of the U.S.-Israeli aggression in June, Araghchi said, “Nuclear materials remain buried under the rubble of bombed nuclear facilities and have not been moved elsewhere. Our nuclear buildings and equipment are damaged, but our technology remains intact.”
Regarding the European powers’ decision to trigger the snapback mechanism on sanctions, he declared, “The activation of the snapback mechanism by the Europeans is illegal, and there is no international consensus on sanctions against us. Our priority is to strengthen relations with neighboring countries, though we remain ready to engage with the West without any dictates.”
Commenting on Syria, Araghchi reaffirmed Tehran’s stance, saying, “We support Syria’s independence and territorial integrity and condemn the Israeli enemy’s attacks against it. ”
